The activities of the Vancouver Executive Association (“VanEx”) are governed by the Bylaws of the Association. Eleven directors of the Association are responsible for the regular activities and administration of the Association, supported by the organization’s Executive Director.


Real Estate was his family business in the mid 1970’s and during his university years Don served as a director of Fuller & Associates Realty Inc. based in Kerrisdale. For 27 years, he has been involved in all aspects of real estate business including: development, advising, sales and marketing, and recently he educated himself for rental property management, as well as, strata management.
His twelve 12 of extensive experience in international acquisition and disposition of residential and commercial assets as a real estate private equity fund manager has deepened his understanding and appreciation of the Vancouver real estate market. He has a proven record locally and internationally as a skilled real estate negotiator who seeks to achieve his clients’ goals and objectives whether they are buying or selling. He takes his responsibility to his clients very seriously and makes it his priority to protect their interests. He welcomes the opportunity to use his knowledge and skills to provide the best experience possible in the current market. Don is a native Vancouverite, a proud graduate of Magee Secondary School and the University of British Columbia, with deep roots on the Westside. All of his education and experience provide him with a wide perspective along with a deep understanding and appreciation for the dynamics of the city’s real estate market.


Sonja Blackburn is a Senior Account Executive at Axis Insurance with more than 23 years of experience in the insurance industry. Over the past decade at Axis Insurance, she has specialized in serving clients in the construction, real estate, contractor, and professional liability sectors, helping businesses identify and manage risk with confidence.
Sonja holds both the Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB) and Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario (RIBO) designations. She also serves as a Director of the Vancouver Executives Association, where she contributes to fostering strong business relationships and professional development within the local business community.
Known for her client-focused approach, Sonja is committed to ensuring her clients are informed, well-protected, and equipped to make sound risk management decisions. Fluent in English, Spanish, and Finnish, she builds meaningful relationships with a diverse range of clients and colleagues.
Outside of her professional life, Sonja enjoys spending time with her family, including her children and dogs. Her passion for helping others navigate challenges reflects her belief that thoughtful risk management creates opportunities for lasting success.


Allan Robertson is a detail-oriented executive as well as a visionary. He has used his cooperative leadership style running small businesses for four decades in various technology industries. Allan’s understanding of, and care for, people makes him a good listener and persuasive communicator. He has hands on skills in accounting, technology, systems analysis and design, automation, computer programming, electronics, and construction.
Allan is currently managing partner at Pinnacle Food Equipment Services LLP, a firm that he and his business partner started in 2001. After graduating with honors from BCIT in 1981 as an Electronics Technologist, Allan began a manufacturing company which applied the latest technology in the building security and access control industry. While running that company he setup distribution channels in the USA and Europe. After selling that company in the late 90’s he went on to be part of several technology startups and developed automation technology in the lithium battery and hydrogen fuel cell industries.

Michael Barillaro is the owner of PWPC Electrical Services, a trusted electrical contracting company serving Vancouver and the surrounding region. Michael Bailey is a certified business coach who focuses on growing profitability for small businesses through improved sales and systems. Michael has been a self-employed consultant for over 30 years, developing and implementing Sales and Service Programs for small and large companies across North America, Europe and Asia.
Michael became a certified business coach in 2016, which enabled him to work much closer to home in Vancouver. His passion is in helping good business owners grow their profitability and business value by quickly developing and implementing strategic action plans for existing business.


Patricia Tait is the Founder and Principal of PTM Services and an experienced Executive Director with more than 20 years of expertise in association management, nonprofit leadership, governance, and event management. She is passionate about helping organizations grow through strong leadership, effective operations, and meaningful member engagement.
Through PTM Services, Patricia leads a dedicated team of four professionals who provide comprehensive association management and administrative support to nonprofit and member-based organizations throughout British Columbia. Together, the PTM Services team delivers expertise in governance, board support, financial administration, membership management, communications, event and conference planning, strategic planning, and business development.
Known for her collaborative and people-centred approach, Patricia works closely with boards, volunteers, members, and stakeholders to build strong relationships and help organizations achieve their goals.
